How old is your system? Pentium 4 comes on 2 different sockets.

Judging by the low amount it'll be DDR and the age of the motherboard makes it a bit pricey to replace. Probably a better investment to get a new computer..

OP, can you tell us whether you have a Socket 423, 478 or 775 Pentium 4 please?

idk I bought just a case and need a motherboard for it so idk what it takes right now I have a motherboard from my sony vaio in it and when I turn it on all my lights for my fans and power supplie flash then it all goes out and nothing works then if I wait 30 seconds and try again it does the same think any ideas? it did the the same thing with me old motheboard I had in it also

That might be a grounding issue or a broken power supply. Have you got another system with which you can test the components?

yah tested them and they work and I tryed diffrent pwoer supplies and nothing seems to help even when I tried a diffrent motherboard it did the same thing and every part is the same as when I took it ouit of the sony viao

Aren't Vaio's all laptops?

That might be your problem. A normal PSU may not have the voltage settings that are used in laptop components
