Also, to have SLi, would I need SLi ready memory or not??

If yes, are the GeIL once stated in my first post SLi ready??

EDIT: Not my first post :) So these are the one I told you about GeIL Evo One 4GB(2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500).

You don't need 'sli' memory.

Memory labelled as such just means that it's been certified to work on SLI motherboards. It does also allow storage of your pc's configuration (as in voltages, timings etc) within it, and also factory guaranteed (guaranteed in the sense that if your pc breaks due to using one of these you still have your warranty) oc'ing settings.

So it's basically just some automatic overclocking profiles but built into the ram rather than the motherboard (A lot of Asus, as an example, performance motherboards come with a software utility that if switched 'on' dynamically overclocks the system dependent on load).

10q Alex. So, if I would want to go SLi in the near future, the RAM need not be SLi ready, am I right?? Also, I have no intention to overclock whatsoever, never!!

Yup, correct.

There's no optimisation in ram labelled sli or epp for dual graphics cards.

It just means Nvidia, as an example, has plonked some ocz, as an example, ram in a SLI motherboard, performed some stress tests and if the ram passes, it gets certified.

A huge simplification there but you get the idea.

Didn't see the question....oops.

Answer is: yes. It's known as 'overclocking ram' even if it's not officially labelled as such.

I realise you won't be oc'ing but the moniker people are giving it means it's stable and very good, for want of a better phrase (its late, I'm tired).
