right im runnign my com on the expected faulty stick (1gb) and before when i tried it with just two 1gb it came to a blue screen, i so far have had no blue screen on this attempt, so to sum up this stick is not faulty so i expect i am having an issue with using the two 1gb sticks together?

So running just one or the other 1GB is fine.

It's only when they are in a pair?

For reference your motherboard is made by Foxconn.

That RAM should be fine.

It's possible I guess that both are fine separately but one has a fault when running dual channel.

As it is hard to narrow down which one has the fault I'd return both and get them swapped.

Slots should be in pairs.

1 and 2 - Both 1GB
3 and 4 - Both 512MB

Miss matching slots like:

1 and 4 - 1GB
2 and 3 - 512MB

Will cause performance issues, even if it works it isn't working the way it was intended.
