dual core is high speed proccesser and it runs at 667 FSB . it is much better then regullar pentum 4 proccesser.BUT i nver heard about Quad core processors . i think it is more superer than dual processor

Earlier processors had one core one a die. Now companies started working on faster processors with higher clock speed like INTEL. But with higher clock speed processors issues like heavy power consumption and overheating came out. Now companies wanted an alternative. They came up with an idea of 2 cores on 1 die that means 2 processors on 1 die. And these processors had decent clock speed. This actually worked in the favour of designers. The computers worked faster as it has 2 processors on 1 die and as they were not clocked at higher speed they consumed less power. (If you know what THREADS are and how they work you will know how softwares benefited from a dual core processor). Now the same rule applies for a quad core processor. 4 cores on 1 die. 4 processors one 1 die to make things faster resulting in less power consumption and better control over overheating issues.
