Recently I have upgraded my cpu from a AMD Athlon 3800+ to a Athlon 5200+ x2 and I'm unable to boot using dual channel mode configuration, all I get is a blank screen with flashing cursor, no post beeps nothing. At the moment Im using single channel mode without any problems. I have 4 dimm slots on the board as follows:- 1= black 2= yellow 3= black 4=yellow.

Putting my memory in both the yellow or black slots = dual channel

Putting my memory in a black slot and a yellow slot = single channel

I have updated my bios to the latest firmware and the bios is set to auto detection. I have tried manualy configuring the memory in the bios including timings and voltage, but still wont boot in dual channel....

Any help would be very much appreciated

My system:-

Asus m2n sli deluxe
x2 512 Corsair xms2 5400
cpu Amd Athlon 5200+ x2 2.7ghz

Send them back to Corsair. Either your motherboard has a problem (unlikely) or the sticks aren't matched, which they promise to do at the factory, so Corsair messed this one up.

Sorry for not mentioning this in my original post, but the memory worked fine in dual channel mode before I upgraded my processor. Perhaps they may be a problem with the memory controller in cpu. In my opinion I think that if there where a problem with the memory controller, I would be having other stability problems. But every thing is running exceptionally well although its only running in single channel mode

Hmmm this is interesting. And you say that you have updated to the latest BIOS?

Do you have any other DDR2 RAM in the house you can try it with?
