Dust? or do you mean to say, your graphics card slot has stopped working but the graphics card installed still works (tested on another machine).

Did you tried reinstall drivers in dives manager?

You know for sure it's the slot (ie, the controller on the motherboard)? It's certainly possible, though I would think PSU not able to supply the load more likely. If it was, it would just be a dying motherboard - electronics don't last forever, the voltage through controller ICs gets to them in the end!

If it was new enough that it shouldn't have happened, test to confirm it is the motherboard, and then (if so) return under warranty.
