i have just installed a refurbished HDD160GB western digital and a lithium battery for the clock when i switch the commy on it says press DEL for setup i press that and then screen appears saying AWARD BIOS SETUP UTILITY and i ain`t got a clue what i shuold do next i know very little about commy any advice would be much appreciated in terms as simple as possible many thanks

Well you changed the BIOS battery so it is making you press the del key to enter the BIOS and set the clock, do so under one of the menus, save and exit.

which menu`s do you mean as i said i`m useless with computers know very very little and which part of the menu should i save thanks

They are different from PC to PC, have a look in all of them, set the clock, then exit to the main menu and save. Normally the key menu on the bottom of the screen explains how to navigate.

I think just connecting to the Windows time thing sets it in the bios to the second..

Nope, I'm fairly sure it doesn't. Works the other way round though. Windows can read it from the BIOS.

so if i install windowsXP pro the HDDshould automatically load itself is that corect thanks
