Don't use cotton anything unless it doesn't shed or you'll end up with cotton bits all over your heatsink. Something a lot of people have that works well is a coffee filter doused in isopropyl alcohol. I wouldn't expect much from changing to that heatsink, though.

I must be the only guy I know who just uses quality tissues.. They don't fall to bits and 99% of it is gone, the other 1% doesn't matter, it's on the corners where I can't be bothered to wipe it off lol

OP: Are you sure a decent clean wont reduce fan noise? Dust is a huge culprit for heat and as such, making fans louder.

Right seams I was wrong.
Past few months I have negleted my PC due to moving back home.
Well in the move I have lost my new CPU cooler :(

I have been having problems with my DVD burner so I thought id take it out to give to IT dept. in work for them to test it for me. Well my supisions were correct its dead. Wial I was at it I removed the exhaust fan I fitted months ago due to not wanting the LED glow anymore and what do you know, no more noise. It was the exhaust fan all along lol

So now I have a choice. Find the other cooler and fit it as its a lot better than standered

Or keep it and build a new PC and install this (only problem with that is I will be waiting about 2 years due to lack of money)

I say put it on. In two years, you will probably be getting a MoBo with a completely different socket and who knows if it will fit.
