Hi all,

Can anyone give me some advice on my pc, i have a large problem but will just put this question on here first with hope someone can help! If i change the motherboard can i still use the existing c drive on the pc? Will the programs on the existing C drive still operate with new motherboard? Thanks a lot

You can use the same hard drive. you will need to reinstall your OS or at the least do a repair as windows won't recognize your new configuration. Whether your programs will be available depends on how your drive has been set up. If you have 1 big drive with no partitions and have to do a full reinstall then you will loose all the programs. if you have partitions on the drive and your programs are on them then you can just reinstall to the partition that holds the OS. If you can get away with a repair then the programs will be ok. With a new motherboard I would always recommend a clean install, but to save your programs try a repair and then back up everything and do a proper install.
