My £300 price target is coming between me and build-it-yourself reality, whereas there's a builder on ebay who can do it with the kit in the OP. So I'll look for a builder on ebay who can do it with an Intel quad core instead, since I failed miserably to do that myself at eBuyer.

Well that person on eBay is going to be doing exactly the same as you looking at different parts and then selling them for a profit.

Trust me, I used to do the same. I just CBA with eBay anymore, too many non payers, exuberant fees etc.

Have you tried looking at different online shops? I use Novatech a lot.

The eBay sellers cannot source parts any cheaper than you can.....
