There isn't a 1-1-1 as such .... describe the beeps a bit more .... i.e. are they of the same length or are ther eshort & long bleeps ?

You clear the BIOS by removing the battery and shorting the + and - with something conductive, unplug from the mains first.

Why would that help?

Your hard drive will work in any laptop, or any PC with a USB port using an adapter.

well i have no clue what is wrong with this POS and yes i have had probs with this since ive had it....so im gonna get a newer everex or something that i can use my hard drive in....

Going back a few steps ..... I believe this Laptop was supplied with 512mb RAM .... when you upgraded the RAM, was this when the problem started or ??? .... what RAM did you install ? ..... did you check it was compatible ?

nah i have been using this for over 8 months with the new ram installed....this comp worked fine this morning and then it locked up so i restarted it and then thats when everything started

Ok ... it was just a thought.

If you want quick access to the data on the drive you could always put the drive in a USB enclosure and connect it to any PC or Laptop. These are dead cheap now.
