Default Comp Broken?

I was on before about this problem but I'll try make a long story short:
Bought 2 Ram cards (1GB pc2700 high density) to replace my old 128mb card,,tried but didnt work because my comp doesnt support high density...Today I got my new 1Gb low density pc 3200 cards..still wont work and they are compatible...Did I Fry the Mobo....????

Computer specifications:Amd athlon 2600+,2Gb RAM max,ASUS A7N8X-LA motherboard.

Problem specifics:
1:Green LED at the back flashes
2:the last time I got the computer to turn on I was trying a combination of my old 128mb card and the new 1GB high density but the comp only recognised the 128mb
3:on button does nothing
4:I noticed the last time it turned on the keyboard wasnt working (getting power).

Default Comp Broken?

Is this a HP Pavillion a230n PC by any chance ? ..... if so, I think you will find that Asus made these mobos for HP and they are different to the Asus branded boards.
According to HP the maximum RAM is 1gb 2 x 512mb.
Crucial confirms this here

Default Comp Broken?

Thanks for the reply ........No its a hp a330.uk...I checked the manual and crucial.com and both said it could take 2x1Gb cards....I'm fairly sure its not a compatability issue anymore ,but that ive busted either the motherboard or someother vital component...also when I unplug the power cord from the motherboard and plug in the pc the flashing led remains constant..the way i think its meant to be.

Default Comp Broken?

The Asus A7N8X-LA motherboard is an OEM Bios locked motherboard ....i.e. the bios is locked by HP.
If you do a google for ASUS A7N8X-LA ram, there are many posts with folk having the same problem as you.
Crucial's website does not specifically list the A7N8X-LA, it lists all the Asus made boards, but they do not have locked bios, so there seems to be some doubt about the accuracy of the maximum size per slot. It seems like it could well be 512mb.

Did you try the original Ram on its own again, to test the mobo is still ok ?

Default Comp Broken?

The manual that came with pc also said it could take 2x1GB so if thats wrong I'll be pissed...
It was the crucial test that told me I could use 2x1GB aswell...yeah I tried the old Ram and it no longer works so its prob the mobo ..right? Is there anything obvious I could have done while changing the Ram that could cause this problem?(like knocking a wire loose or something)

If the old Ram doesn't work either now, then it does sound as though the mobo may be faulty.

It's possible that the old Ram went bad, and, as mentioned, the new Ram may not be compatible, but the only way to find out, means spending more money, unless you can borrow some Ram.

I'm not sure about this but you may not be getting enough power to your system and may need to upgrade the PSU
