Hello all,

just fixing a system here as the user was getting no response from it at all, so i replaced the PSU. Everything was running with all ports and cables in except for the power to the CPU, as soon as I put this in there is no response from the system at all.

So i tried the old PSU and same result, works fine until i attach the 4pin Processor lead!

Has anyone had this before?? Is the problem down to the CPU? It is obviously not the power supply as i first thought!

Thanks in advance,

Tim

If it works without that lead then it probably does not require it.

no the computer doesn't work but the board has power, the fans spin etc.

but it won't even beep and the monitor won't switch on. When i put in the CPU power cable (yes the one you said) it fails to even get the fans spinning

What's the amp rating on the 12v rail?

What wattage is the psu? and exactly what components are in the build?

Hey there

I think your problem here is the RAM. I have had this problem before judging by your post.

Everything on my motherboard had power etc and the other components were fine. If your computer dosent switch on and just bleeps it must be a RAM problem.

Check see if the RAM is in properly or broken it may need some new.

Hope this helped
