I just redid my computer with a new motherboard, Gigabyte S series Ga-ma69g-s3h Socket am2 Has 4gb of ddr2 6400 ram and a 5000+ Amd Black series Cpu
Video card is an Ati Radeon x1600
The OS is Vista Home premium 64bit
All was well with the last motherboard an Msi k9neo, all specs the same except for Cpu that was a 3800+ x2. Reason for replacing was on of the Ram Dimms was not reading memory.
Now the computer will freeze up not sure how long till it freezes up.
By all accounts this should be a better running system but now it seems to have problems.
Prior to this the computer was an always on. Now It won't stay running for more than an hour or less. any Ideas on where to start?
Cheers

Freezing is normally down to overheating.

Make sure the CPU fan is on properly, remove it and re-seat it.

I've done that twice, Right after my last restart I checked the cpu temp using the BIOS it was at 49c. Is that to high? I'm running the same Coollermaster fan/heatsink that I was using on the prior MSI motherboard.
Could any of this be software related or is it more than likely hardware?

Not sure if it is too hot or not, Google it up.

If the PC locks then it is almost 100% hardware (CPU).

Could always try reinstalling the OS, if it's hardware you won't get very far.
