does anyone know if there is a programmer then will allow me to control my cpu speed, really i would like to slow it down to consume less power on my laptop, while also letting it run cooler durining lessons, im hoping for something like AMD do.

You can do this by entering the BIOS pre Windows bootup.

go into the bios and lower the multiplier by 1
total cpu clock speed = fsb / number of cores (i think?) X multiplier

The BIOS is the program, no software can throttle your CPU clock as far as I know.

It's possible that the settings are not there in the BIOS on a branded machine, maybe they want that stuff locked.

its an xp pro comp, and i dont know about it, its not well known brand, caus its made for schools, its RM (research machines) so i dont think there the type of computer companie to lock it because there exact match desktop version is not locked out of finding things like this
