WIll the new Quad core 2 duo CPUs work in any motherboard made for the core 2 duo with a FSB of 1066Mhz?

As further as I'm concern 1066 is the maximum velocity in hertz......definitely yes!! No problem man!

Default core 2 duo Quad core motherboard compatibility?

No. They won't.

Some earlier core2 boards such as the Asus p5b are only able to use a quad core with a bios update.

Without going into individual board spec's the majority of new core2 boards will accept a quad cpu.

Easiest way to find out would be to visit the manufacturers website for any mobo you're interested in.
