Some earlier core2 boards such as the Asus p5b are only able to use a quad core with a bios update. Without going into individual board spec's the majority of new core2 boards will accept a quad cpu. Easiest way to find out would be to visit the manufacturers website for any mobo you're interested in. My System: Zoomy
