Just wondering which CPU is better between the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz 12MB L2 Cache, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Yorkfield 3.0GHz 12MB L2 Cache, or Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 Wolfdale 3.33GHz 6MB L2 Cache. When I'm looking at the specs I see some differance but ...

well it all depends on what you are looking to do. the QX9650 i would recommend for gaming, as it is the best out of the three. the Q9650 is a great quad core and in my opinion, comparable to the wolfdale core. looking at your computer parts, i would recommend the QX9650 if you have the money, or the regular Q9650 if you dont want to spend so much. the dual core is good but later on will be obselete. i hope i answered your question

E8500.

If you have that much to blow do so on the graphics card.

Which are far from the highest-performing graphics cards of the day, and in months will be beaten by single-GPU cards. There is no reason to pay any more than $189 for a CPU unless you are going to use that CPU in its entirety.

It is exactly the same as the E8500 with a 0.5 multiplier change.

except it is 1000 dollars! if you have the money, go ahead. but the e8500 is a much better deal and price to performance ratio.
