Cpu dilema

Hi i have a dell 8400, it came with an SL7J8 pentum4 3.4ghz 1mb cache processor, i bougth a SL96H pentium4 3.6ghz 2mb cache processor to take its place but i couldnt seem to get it to work, i put it in and the light on the comuter was amber but not alot else happened,

Can anyone shed some light on this. thanks

What mobo do you have? Download CPUZ or Everest if you don't know.

i think its an intel 925x chipset

just had a look its made from dell, model is 0j3492 its an i925x
