Hi All,
Hopefully I have the correct forum... If not can a mod guide me.. I am a noob... Thx. Thanks in advance for checking out my problem. I have an Intel 3.0Ghz processor XP sp3 Nvidia 9800 gt 512mb. I have an ok system. It should not be giving me probs I have experienced. Anytime I am not connected to my laptop (which is the shared internet connection) my CPU runs @ 48-65% constantly. Once I hook up via LAN to my laptop it drops to norms of 0-5% usage when monitoring only. All these check I have done with BoostSpeed and have been in a non working enviroment (no programs on screen). I know there may be some extra usage during boot due to search for network but this happens even when the network connection is disabled. |

It's probably nothing to worry about, most likely it's just an odd bug, so actually, it's not working tha hard, it just thinks it is.

I had an issue a while back where my CPU was running at 276% - you can't always rely on computers! ![]() The only other thing I can think of is that it's dedicating an unholy amount of proccessing power into trying to find a non-existent network. To test that out, just disable everything you can that looks for networks or uses one or anything at all like that, then see how it does. My System: FordyPC
