hello again, can you guys post up some suggestions on memory for my gaming rig in progress? its for a q6600+8800 gtx but I have to much choice...just like for every other component.


such as...pro..or c4 or c4 pro or all those titles that mean nothing to me...choose one for me please

You sound confused (no offence intended) so without going into latency and clock cycles I'll just recommend some ram.

Corsair XMS2 800mhz DDR2 (for the board you said you were getting). CL5.

I mention CL5 as there are different flavours of this ram, so just look for that.

Best bet is to get 2x1gb (gigabyte) modules. It's sold in matched pairs so don't worry about buying single modules.

hmmmm....the only xms2 i can get my hands on is the 667mhz 1024mb one....

what about the twinx c4 or twinx pro?

it looks like the low latency ones are cheaper....should I be looking for the 5-5-5-12 ones for gaming?

i have that RAM. something about that when i got it the internals were different so it OC better than the current ones out. when you buy it matters cuz they change things about it over it that make make computer parts better or worse. not sure about this ram in particular. but i have that one and can OC to about 1000MHz. good choice. i too plan to play Crysis (who wouldnt want to??? :D )

You should go for the Corsair PC-8500 which are the Dominator 1066MHz and are 2 Twin paird 2*1GB

Which btw, they are DDR2. If you would like to go for DDR3, corsair have the mentioned ones above in DDR3 as well but you have to bear in mind whether your mobo supports DDR3 or not.
