Default is DDR2 ram support DDR ram

i have a ibm thinkpad r51 model laptop

now i want to upgrade ram that i m using one 512 and 256 ddr ram

can this i possible that i change to one 512 ddr ram and 1gb ddr2 ram

the thing i want to know that is ddr2 ram in place of ddr ram slot

I can see why you'd ask; both are 200 pin dimms.

But ddr and ddr2 run on different voltages. Your laptop chassis will support one or the other, not both.
