One of my older puters has 2 sticks of pc2100 memory 256meg. each . Motherboard has 3 slots for memory.will memory up to pc3200 interchange, as its all 184 pins? I can get one stick pc2100 1 gig or 2 of the 512 meg 3200 or even 2 of the 1gig 3200.
What to do?? only want to spend 50 or 60 bucks.
I'm thinking, (hoping) there is plenty of interchange between 2100 , 2700, and 3200, but don't think I want to mix 2100 and 3200 ect.

Get the largest capacity that you can afford regardless of speed.

However, DDR1 is dead, you will pay a huge premium, and it often isn't cost effective to put money into long-outdated machines. A new, non-gaming computer can cost as little as $250 with 4GB of DDR2.
