Different CPU temps on dual core

as it says on the tin really.

bit more info:

on the stuff that came with the Heatsink and using the bios to control the fan to around 40C, but the difference in core temps is around 10C, Core 1 temp 50 - 53C, core 2 temp 40 - 42, what is the fault here?

used 3 different programmes and all report the same difference

running AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (windsor) on vista home premium SP1

Hey, My cores are a bit like that too. Around 10C difference. I made a thread before, and everyone said it was fine. Don't worry, shouldn't be any fault.

same here with my 4600+ dualcore always been 10-15C difference so wouldnt worry about it.

Yea, there will always be differences, it's nothing to worry about. It will just be that one core is being used more than the other, which is normal.

ok then makes sense if some programs are still only using one core, thanks guys, and are those temps about right as well, are they safe?

Yea, those temps are fine, CPU's in general can mange upto and over 70C, I'm not sure about that specific CPU, but that temp is fine for all.
