Doesn't really matter on the amount Zaone for what you're quoting.
More on the voltages able to be supplied by the motherboard, the stock voltage required by the dimm's purchased and the factory latencies on the dimms.

You can only run them dual channel if they are 2x512 and 2x512 matching pairs, same with the 2x1024
