I know! It's like the word that means 'the fear of long words' is ridiculously long! It's like Hippohumongousneesossityphobia or something - no joke it's one of longest words. I think they do it just for fun. I would.

Anyway - on topic.
I've never heard of Triple Channel RAM.. just Dual for RAM I think and yes it's just faster and more simultaneous data handling.

Triple channel is for the Core I7 things, again the motehrboard costa an arm and a leg so its not too viable for most but hopefully some good will come of it!

Exactly! triple channel is only available with the core i7 CPU's and X58 chip sets (although you can only use them together, so it's only 1 situation really). And yes, it's basicly just for extra speed, like dual (yay) channel in theory doubles the RAM speed, as two are being written to simultaneously, triple channel in theory triples the speed in the same way.
