Default dual core processors

Hi All

I have a question about dual core processors. i was wondering how a 2.0 dual core stacks up to single core processors mainly a 2.6 single core.

the 2.0 is going to be used for mostly processing pictures and doing digital home videos.
just wanna know which will preform better for this

Thanks guys

Only certain programs support dual core, or should i say, make use of the dual core setup.

So if you were only using your computer to browse the internet and then send an email, fair enough, one core is enough.

If however you were multitasking, browsing the internet then switching to do some video editing then i'd suggest two cores.
