Total n0ob question - but ask and ye shalle get lé answer, right?
With China's "Godson" processor in the news a bit lately and its soon-to-have abailty to emulate x86 so x86 software can run on it - i.e Windows, does this mean that the 64bit Godson is x64 already and as such can run 64bit windows/linux etc? Or am i totally missing something here? Don't bite lol! |

The new Godsun, AFAIK, will run 32 and 64 bit apps. The old Godsun 2, could only run 64 bit apps, again, AFAIK. Does this help?

bad noob, very bad noob, back in your cage!
loli read the article and i think it means that it is ether better than other 64x processors at emulating x86 or just capible of running x86 which all x64 processors can do anything. i think the big deal is about the fact that the processor can run multiple arcetictures (e.g. power pc, x86, mac, etc). all a bit confusing to me aswell so it isnt a noobish questions really. show me a noob that knows what x86 is and ill eat my hand :DDD |
