hey guys i just did this check as ive never done it before just to see what happens, reaults etc etc

on my system tab it states my directx is dx10, now what does this mean because i have a 7600gs card which is direcx9 ..... have i somehow managed to install dx10 on my dx9 card oorr is my system able to manage up to dx10 standards, either way i got a new graphics card on the way 8600gt, mainly for the benefits of dx10 with my vista? anyone clear this up for me?

DX10 is an integral part of Vista.
That doesnt mean you have to have a DX10 card to run Vista.You just need a DX10 card to take advantage of the DX10 features.
