Default Fitted New DDR 400 512 MB PC 3200 RAM - Problems...

hi i have just brought two new ram sticks .DDR 400 512 MB pc 3200 to replace the ones that just died ,put them in and i still get the long beep sounds as soon as i switch on the computer and it wont boot up , tried all combo's ...

hi i have just brought two new ram sticks .DDR 400 512 MB pc 3200 to replace the ones that just died ,put them in and i still get the long beep sounds as soon as i switch on the computer and it wont boot up , tried all combo's with the slots and no go please help! the computer is a AMD athon 64x 2 4200 nForce 6100 2.2 dual core 8MB cache SATA 8MB hard drive thanx ps could there be anything esle wrong or could there be a faulty ram stick ,fingers crossed.

There is a possibility the motherboard is faulty, I have known for ram slots to fail. If you are able to test the ram in a different computer. If the ram works then there is a problem with the ram slots on your motherboard.

It's also possible that the beep sounds are indicating something other than Ram.

Can you describe the beeps you are getting in more detail and tell us your bios make.

Hi philthomas thanx but have found out it is the ram connection to the motherboard is faulty but thanx anyways cheers for that
