Default HELP. mega overheat and low volts

hp. 2.6mhz intel celeron cpu. microstar board. 768 mb ddr memory

Hi, please help...my cpu temp is peaking at 127 c !!!!!
its causing all sorts of problems.
mbm5 dashboard shows cpu temp at 126c and case temp at 110c. it shows the 12volt readout at only 2.98volts.

changed the cpu fan, and case fan...made no difference.
changed psu, still no difference, stuck now...
do you think the motherboard is shot?
any help would be great...ta

If your not experiencing regular random shutdowns then id say those temp readings are wrong try core temp as cew said.

Default HELP. mega overheat and low volts

At 128C your computer would be on fire.

I would not trust that program. Download Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool and give it another shot.

I back carbon 100%, ive seen processors smoke at lower temps then that, you could always try reapplying some new thermal paste

Default HELP. mega overheat and low volts

ok try coretemp it will give you the most accurate reading of temp
also try touching your heatsink and guage how hot it is
there is no way you can be running that processor at that temp without a shutdown or a fire

ok ..checked temps over and over, believe me its VERY hot. Can any of you tell me why the volts are so low on the 12volt side, they read 2.98 volts and the cpu fan is only running at half speed, which doesnt help the temps!!!
