I just installed 2, 2gb. sticks of G.SKILL DDR2-1066 PC2-8500 memory. do I check what speed it is running at now in the bios? I went in and set the memory from 1.8 to 2.0v. since the new memory specs are 2.0-2.1v. was this the correct thing to do ? are there any other settings that should be changed also. Thanks!
the motherboard is the Asus m3a78-em.

in answer to your post title/topic. CPU-z shows the clock speed of your ram. its free to download of the net, a quick google will find it.

Thanks! I downloaded it and after I adjusted to 2v. on memory, changed memory speed to 533mhz in bios., and set latency settings to match the specs on memory box it came in, in cpu-z it says Dram speed between 535 and 536 sound about right for the 1066mhz G.SKILL memory? Thanks again!

ermm. im not the best person to ask on that one im afraid! i think thats right, but dont quote me on it, hopefully someone else who knows more than me will confirm this for you! your ram is running at half of the speed its set at, however, i dont know if this speed should be doubled or not.....

It seems, I read somewhere that you are suppose to double the reading in cpu-z to get the speed total but, I don't know for sure either. appreciate your help!

AH thank you! I set the latency, and voltage level according to specs on the box so maybe everything is correct. Thanks!

Don't set it to 533, just set it to synchronous with the CPU.

Hi Carbon, I really don't know what synchronous, means or how to go about it? Thanks!
