Don't do it in one go. 4GHz sounds too much to me.. but I can't say for sure, just keep an eye on temps and go up gradually.

i dont think overclocking is worth it. especially if you have a stock cooler. what motherboard do you have?

its not dangerous, its not like it gonna blow ur house up. the worst case is the CPU would die. BUT if you have a 3.46 why do you want more ? my celeron is 3.2GHz and i think it more than enough even though i want a P4 :D My advise is stay a 3.46GHz, its not worth overclocking to 4GHz and lowering your CPU's life, while its a good performer at 3.46GHz.

have a google to see how well people have overclocked that cpu before, that would be a good place to start. some CPUs dont like overclocking at all, while others go like crazy!!
but as others have said, it all depends on how good your cooling is! more speed = more heat good luck if you do choose to overclock tho! |

Im a realistic techie and point blank i am sorry if you are stuck w/ a celeron.I had a 1.7 g celeron and my old amd k6 which is a 476mghz would kick its butt day in day out.embarassing that a processor with 10 times the supposive processing speed was slowwwwwerrrrrrr than an amd k6.which in their day were great.get a pentium or go with amd.no celeron no sempron.I believe that is amd low line.may be duron.why did they finish making PENTIUM NOW the bad boy is ?dual core intel or do they still have their low line ,high line?what are the exact names of their 1,2,3, lines within intel?

No, they replaced them completely. They had a "Pentium Dual Core" (just regular low-end 65nm C2Ds) E2xxx line which was replaced by the E5xxx line and now the Pentium brand is completely gone (I think).

The "Pentium" is still used in laptop chips, IE; T3200

The celeron d 360 is a p4 with halve the catche dissabled by intel so you might be able to overclock it no problem as a lot of people who have bought duel-core pentiums will tell you in the review sections or you could do what i did and got a duel-core celeron e1200 for £32 with delivery and that was retail to replace my celeron d 360
1 you can buy pentium/celeron duel core chips no problem from www.ebuyer.com www.overclockers.com and you get loads more bang for your money 2 check your motherboard to see what chip it can have (celeron d had socket775 and that is the standard of them all know ) |

I have been thinking and is it worth overclocking when I know you can have this
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145259 as that is the one I will get next and check out the review here as well as this is the one I changed to http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-194-IN&tool=3 |
