Default how to I do a line by line post when

starting up my computer to find out how much memory I have?

I assume what you're talking about is the amount of RAM available to your system, which can be found out without doing a reset of your computer. Go to Start > Run and then type in "dxdiag". The amount of memory available will be on the first page.
