IM getting rid of my pentium d which is overclocked and buying another cpu do i just take it off the mobo and put the new one just like that or do i have to do something else>

After you've removed the heatsink, unlock the slide (pull it out to the right and it'll pop up), grab the CPU by the edge and take it out, then just put your new one in, push the slide back down and lock it to the left, put your new heatsink on top and off you go.

make shure your motherboard supports the new motherboard first of all and make shure your new heatsink has thermal paste if your goin to use the same heatsink apply new thermal paste
