Default I just installed a gig of ram, but my

computer says I have 2 gigs! What?!? What's happening? I have dual channel ram, and on each of the modules I installed it says it was 512 mb! 512 + 512 doesn't equal 2 gigs!!! what's going on!

Where is your pc 'saying' it has 2gb installed? Are you viewing this information in task manager or in 'system' within the control panel?

Open up control panel, next select System and Maintence, then click system, its should tell you your computer specs there. If it still says two gig, I would restart te computer or take out a RAm chip, restart and have it register 512, then shut off the pc and put the other 512 in and see if it goes to 1 gig again.
