Hello all,

In about 3 days ago I bought 1 RAM of 2 Gigs. test it on my computer, when I turned on my computer and inserted the RAM a sudden terrible smell comes out, so then I inmeadiately turned off the computer, after that, I turned on again but nothing appears on the monitor.
I have tested the RAM on another computer and it works fine, also took off the motherboard to check if something go burned but nothing went wrong( everything is fine).

Please help?

Looks like you managed to fry your motherboard.

Yup, burning smells are always a bad thing and are because something cooked itself.

In this case I would say your mobo is toast.

Ahh one last question, now that my MB fried, I want to get a new one. What should I take into consideration when seeing which MB is a good one?
I only know that I need to get one that supports my processor (Pentium D) and 667MHZ RAM.
