I have what could be a dumb question? I have had a matched set of corsair xms 1gb memory modules (total of 2 gb) in my machine for 4 or 5 years. Asus k8n mb with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+. Back when I built this, I couldn't afford to fill the 3 mem slots. Recently I found another new corsair xms 1gb module and put it in. I'm not having any problems, but my system shows only 2.47 gb? With 2 it shows 2, with 1 it shows 1, but with 3 it shows 2.47? I've swapped them in all different configs such as 1 of the matched with the new one, both matched, etc.. Why is this?

32Bit windows can only see 3GBish, so depending on the size of your GFX card RAM leaves you with what you have.

For example if you have 3GB of RAM and a 512MB GFX card then your system will only show 2.5GB ish of system RAM.
