Might be Windows 7 being funny or you dont have the Windows 7 drivers. They're still early builds of the drivers so I wouldn't expect flawless behaviour even if it is based heavily on Vista.

Might affect it a bit yeah.

But thing is my fps didnt change when i went from Vista to Windows 7.

Dont know if i should get rid of it all both 7 & Vista, and install my old XP

Well you could I suppose. WoW is DX9 anyway so it wont be a visual degrade but a performance boost should be gained since XP isn't as resource hungry as Vista or 7. That said, there's better memory management etc, different story though.

Try reinstalling all the drivers and such, might flush out the problem.

If I upgraded my motherboard & Processor, would that affect anything else?

Nope. Unless you moved platform in terms of RAM (Such as DDR2 to DDR3) then you'll be fine. Get a DDR2 motherboard and a compatible processor and you're good to go.

Ask Carbon, he knows about motherboards. Motherboards don't make a huge difference but make sure you get a compatible processor and motherboard.

Yeah, like mentioned earlier, my motherboard was not compatible with many new Processors. Thats why i thought about upgrading both

Then get a P45 motherboard and you can house any Core 2 processor.

If you need help then we can look into a budget and take the buying from there.

I got a budget of about 200 pounds to both a motherboard and processor

That's a good pair there for £190. Unless Carbon recommends and AMD equivalent then they're good to go. You'll be on DDR2 for the E6400 and the rest of your components are guaranteed to fit.

To fit it:
Take out old motherboard and CPU. Fit in new motherboard and CPU. Enjoy speed.

You shouldn't throw money at this if what you have is sufficient because you're going to likely run into the same software problems there as you will here. No processor upgrade is worth it - underlying problem needs to be diagnosed.
