i'm running an E6600 right now but those Q6600's are only like £150 now, I think it's upgrade time :)

One of my lecturers once told me it's not such a great thing having so much cache as it doesnt neccessarily speed things up...is this true or was the Ozzie lying to us all?!

Default Intel E6420 Processor

A larger cache doesn't make any noticeable difference when gaming.

But try a build with a, for instance, 2mb cache core 2, then a 4mb cache core 2 (same speed) and benchmark using Photoshop as your measurement.
