Well, if "Larabee" is the way forward, I don't know. Look at Cell too, that's taking CPU and basic GPU instructions together. While we may not hit THz speed, we will no doubt see performance increases that will just hammer any system today. I think the core and clock race is getting daft already. 16 cores is all well and good but nothing's written for them, so why bother? 4/8 is enough, concentrate on getting stuff around faster perhaps, much like Cell and Larabee.
