![]() Looks like 2008 will be a good year for oc'ers as well. 45nm means the switches are that much closer together than the current 65nm crop of Intel cpu's. Meaning less voltage to run them and less heat output.

| Well my crappy eVGA 680i Sli(AR Revision)will not support 45nm

![]() eVGA said they will replace it with A1 revision for free but what the hell am i gonna do for the month it will probably take to get back to me? I am going to have to buy a board just to see me through, what a waste of money. ![]() So this is the plan: RMA AR revision Get A1 revision. Use step up offer on A1 revision to get 780i for only $80 Expect to see an Asus P5B or similar in the trades section soon(only used for one month) ![]() Sorry for going off topic but the 45nm thing just reminded me of the problems I have with this board(AR Revision is also useless for overclocking quads) .My System: Krlll

| So read into that what you will.... I can't personally recommend the Striker 2 as I haven't had chance to play with one, but considering it's the son of the Striker I'd expect good things. But only get one if you're considering an SLI rig, with some oc'ing thrown in. As it will be expensive once released for sale. Reviews of the board do sing it's praises though. The 45nm's cpu's will, I suspect, be marvellous overclocking cpu's because as the switches are that much closer together over 65nm, they'll also switch faster. Hence my Q6600 being sent back and me waiting, rather impatiently it has to be said, for Penryn.

| Eh? So existing 775 motherboards won't take Penryns? Is it because they're 1333mhz FSB?

| Striker Extreme is an awesome motherboard. I have that with the QX9650 OC'd and both so far are the best combo I've ever owned. Have the pc apart right now since I'm finishing working on my beast of a machine, but yeah, that motherboard is the best I've owned and I've owned quite a few. |
