Someone shoot me for sticking with AMD a few months ago.

Arg i wish i had gone for the quad. Why didnt i go for the quad. Arg im kicking myself.

I want a quad. Do I get one now? Or do I wait?

No, wait for Nehalem. 45nm, 1600mhz fsb. Release: shortly. You might have to wait longer for a 'cheap' version of the quad but as you're ok now you'll kick yourself again further down the line.

This. Also, wait until games actually use four cores. Right now, you will get absolutely zero extra performance out of the quad if you're not running autoCAD or something.

many games utilize quad core. even Half life 2 episode 2 supports it. Crysis, im sure UT3 would, Project Offset will, and many others.

I know about the lack of applications and such that don't fully utilize all four cores, along with the gaming issue. I run a 6000x2 atm which is sufficient for gaming, wish I'd have gone for the quad though, which I intend on overclocking the hell out of

Anyway I will have to wait as the funds don't support an upgrade yet
