You bought the Asus P5B-E, correct?

Your's is passively cooled,(without heatpipes), and very well if I may say so.

As far as your's go's I would leave well enough alone.

But you could if you wanted as there's no heatpipes to dremel off.

i wanted the asus but ended up with an intel DP965LT
