Default Making a Dell 4550 faster

I have a dell 4550 has a 2.40GHz P4 768MB of ram I was looking at ways to make it faster I tried going into the BIOS I can change CPU speed from Normal to Compatible and in memory I can change AGP Aperture from 128 to 256,32, or 64 not sure what eather of these are. I have looked at putting a sata hard drive in it and putting a full 1gb of ram. Any other suggestions would be great thanks

Going into the BIOS and changing settings is going to do more harm than good.

You have two options, improve the hardware by buying better or clean up Windows.

Cleaning up windows would be the place to start.

Get Ccleaner and remove all the temporary junk, do virus and spyware scans too, you'll be surprised what you'll find using the right cleaning tools.

Post in the Virus and spyware forum if you need help with that.

Yep,no fun to be had in Dell BIOS.
Adding more memory is the best easy way to speed up your PC.If you have no graphics card look into investing in one of those aswell

Spybot is good but replace Norton with AVG(its free).
Use Norton Removal Tool to help with getting rid of norton.
