Default Memory for MC-6712 motherboard

I have a Time computer with a MC-6712 motherboard and 256MB of RAM. The manual for the motherboard says that it can take up to 3GB of memory, 1GB in each of the three slots, using 184 pin PC2700/333 DIMM modules. I have purchased two 1Gb modules but fitting either of them causes the computer to fail at start up with a message of System32/drivers/ntfs.sys file missing or corrupt. The computer runs perfectly with just the original 256MB module fitted. Have I bought the incorrect memory?

Thanks for the quick reply. I am not sure of the type, it came from ebay described as 1GB PC 2700 DDR 333 Mhz 184 Pin (NEW). It has a label that gives 128x64 1GBPFURTULAC

It was sold as new but it only came in a clear bag with no manufacturers markings.

I'd send it back, as it's eBay you cannot be sure it is the right type or even it may be faulty.

Next time get stuff like this from a proper etailer, at least you'll know it's new and correct spec because as of now you cannot be sure so are wasting your time.
