Default Memory Timings PC4000 Ram

hi, since i put 4x1gb sticks of pc4000 Ballistix in my IC7-G mobo i have been having problems starting my computer. i set the memory @3.4.4.8 and the votage @2.8v but when i press the power on button all the fans start up but i don't get anything on my screen? i then have found if i press the restart button then the comp fires up fine! Is there any other timings i could try to see if i can get it to fire up without having to press the restart button, i'm not that clever when it comes to understanding what all this stuff concerning memory timings means.

Please help me on this one

Mark

Um Strange, what OS are you using? if XP then 3 is the max supported anyway, and are you running the comp with any overclock? if not then you probably have your memory running at DDR400
Download Cpu-z from the download section and show me this page

So I guess that means you have no overclock on your CPU which means you are running your memory at ddr400 instead of ddr500 so you can probably tighten your timings to 3-3-3-7, try that and tell me how you get on:)

The mighty Abit IC7
I used to have a MAX3.
You must overclock your cpu to attain DDR500 speeds with your ram as they are both directly linked.
As social says just with 2x1GB and run the mem at stock voltage and timings.
After that you can either overclock the cpu (and with it the ram) or just try to tighten the ram timings if you are not overclocking the cpu.
If you are not overclocking the cpu,why not?
The Abit IC7 series is legendary for overclocking.

Sorry that was all just a rant really and doesnt answer your question but you went off on a tangent and I followed.
Are you sure you have the power and reset switch connected to the motherboard properly?

If this problem just started when you installed 4gigs try removing 2 of them as see if it still happens
