Default Mid Range Server Computer

Basiclly im upgrading my server computer.... btw it will be a 64 bit OS installed Heres what i want to get... tell me what you think. 2x(G.Skill 4Gb Kit (2x2Gb) 800MHz PC6400 DDR2 Ram CL6-6-6-18 1.8~1.9V - $128) 8gigs total

Intel Core2Quad 2.40GHz Q6600 CPU 2x4MB Cache, 1066FSB/LGA775 - $259

Any Suggestions will be much appreciated... im on a buget though max +-$800 au

lol i would say it was mid range - cause the top range has 2x Quad Xeons + 32 gigs of ram.....

Logonserver + Core (Takes up alot of ram) + mysql + Apache and compiling with vb 2008...

Stuff like that...

lol... hmmm not really you know im more of an editor... Not to much of a programmer like i have made a few programs but thats just messing about.

Still learning.... i would consider myself a complete noob at programming - to put it that way.... And you?

Kewl... Ya i wouldn't buy a pc let alone a server from dell/hp or any brand name. i would rather build my own pc's. buying from a brand name company most of the time gives low quality hardware such as the ram/motherboard/psu - lasts until the warranty expires or the computer is completly unstable.
Same here all my friends come to me if they have pc trouble. like my friend he took his computer to an IT guy and he couldn't fix it, he told he the symptoms and i told him out to fix it in a second.
Ya at school were doing programming but for some oddd reason were doing like 10% practical and 90% theory.. so i dont learn to much so im trying to teach myself...
