Default mo/bo cpu installation

hi, i just bought some new parts , mobo and cpu, im upgrading from an athlon xp 1900+ to an amd 64 3000, when i put the parts in is it a simple task of jsut takin the old out and plugging everything in to the new mobo, or do i have to do something else? im guessing something else lol

No.

You will have to do a repair or full re installation of Windows so you will need your Windows disk. You may also have to ring up Microsoft and explain what you have done so they can give you a new key to enter in.

If you chose to repair your Windows installation you will have to download all the updates again.

ok, well i have a reboot disk that takes the pc to its original factory settings, so when you have re booted the compwhen you turn it on its says thanks for purchasing this pc blah blah lets take sum time t oset up, u folliw me ? lol, so i just put the new parts in and put the disk in the drive and turn it on, then windows will be re-installed and my parts will be working?
