does any one know of a good motherboard for the phenom?
ive seen 1 on newegg but they don't ship to the UK =(
any surgestions are appreciated

You'll need socket am2+ for a Phenom. And your head examining for purchasing a Phenom.

But should you still want a Phenom. Try this. Also supports AMD's new triple core cpu's being released later in the year.

Gaming: E6850.

Other usage (encoding etc): Q6600.

But really, now, neither.

I'm sending my quad back (for a restocking fee) and holding off for a couple of weeks.
