Default Motherboard not working :(

hi, i just got a new m2n-e sli am2 motherboard and it aint workin'. when i turn it on, all fans turn on and the hard drives start turning but thats it. There are no beeps either. All the hardware pluged into it worked in my previous motherboard.

i think the problem may have something to do with the ram because i have some geil dragon ram with red LEDs and they arent lighting up so they are obviously not getting any power.

there is a green led indicating that there is power to the motherboard which turns on so power is deffentally getting to the motherboard but this light turns on without the 4 pin cpu power connector so the problem maybe there aswell.

so can someone please help me!!

I'd say a duff board or CPU.

That's assuming all the power leads are connected as they should be.

To confirm it you could always try your other bits in the old mobo.

Was it new?

Also tell me your CPU, mobo and RAM models and I'll look them up.

Is everything getting enough power?(Does your PSU have enough wattage to power the graphics card etc?)
Have you set the correct voltage for the ram in the BIOS?

That should be fine together.

Try 1 stick of RAM on it's own, if it still doesn't work try the other stick.

Check all the power connectors over and over, some mobos need two power connectors to the board.

If all the above fails get the mobo swapped, I've had many a new board faulty out of the box.

done, done and done. i hope it is faulty rather than incompatible as i do like this model :)

the psu should be enough because it worked before with my old 8800gts and the gt uses less power or so i read. its 550w by the way.

in the item descryption it said that the box had been opened to see if the motherboard was working so im geussing that it was tested before it was posted so it must of broken in the post... or they didnt test it at all!!

oh well, thanks anyway guys. ive taken the mb out of my case and packaged it away ready to send it back for a refund.

Hi there, just reading your thread and I remembered I had a problem not to unlike this except my motherboard beeped at me, it turned out that my motherboard had a faulty ram slot which I am told is not to uncommon with motherboard
